A STALWART who has dedicated over 20 years to working with the Royal British Legion in Wellington, has been honoured.
Brian Summers received his life membership award after retiring from his position as branch chairman, following 14 years in the role.
Brian first joined the branch in 1990 and became the welfare officer, helping and advising former service personnel across the area.
He was often seen across the county when he took up the role of the branch standard bearer, representing it at a variety of events, including the Service of Remembrance at the Royal Albert Hall in London.
Brian is pictured above receiving his award at the Somerset County Conference from director general of the Royal British Legion, Chris Simpkin.
