A CYCLIST who died after falling from his push bike has been named as well-known local sportsman John Wadham.

Mr Wadham was pronounced dead after the accident in Winckworth Way, Taunton, at 12.45pm on Wednesday last week (February 12).

Post mortem tests showed the husband, father and doting grandfather died of natural causes.

His family have issued a statement paying tribute to “a true family man who enriched the lives of everyone he met”.

Mr Wadham was a founding member of Knapp Cricket Club, former captain of Taunton St Andrews Cricket Club and a playing member of St Andrews Snooker Club.

His family said: “We have been deeply touched by all of the messages of support and love that we have received from his colleagues and friends.

“These messages go to show how highly thought of he was by everyone who knew him.

“We would like to give our heartfelt thanks to the two people who tried to help him and the Somerset NHS staff also.”

Mr Wadham’s funeral will be held at Taunton Deane Crematorium at 11am on Wednesday, February 19.
