New dance classes coming to Minehead
3:00pm Sunday 23rd February 2014 in News
FORMER Royal Ballet star Duncan Hume has been inspiring West Somerset to take up dance since the launch of his classes last year.
Adults and children at St Dubricus School in Porlock have been enjoying the hot rhythms of Street Dance and primary pupils in Dulverton have been inspired.
Now adults in Minehead can enjoy the Latin rhythms of a Salsercise class or try out a new Body Conditioning class with Duncan.
West Somerset Sports & Leisure Centre is hosting three weekly Salsercise classes as well as two weekly body conditioning classes.
Dance class organiser Wez Pooley from the centre says that Duncan’s classes have proved to be a great hit in West Somerset.
He said: “Duncan’s professional expertise and enthusiasm for dance has really inspired the community here in West Somerset and there has been a fantastic response to the adult dance class in Porlock so we are hoping that adults in Minehead will also take to dance in a big way as it is one of the best ways of getting fit in a relaxed and sociable atmosphere.”
Salcercise classes will take place for 55 minutes on Mondays from 10.15am, on Thursdays from 9.30am and on Fridays at 7pm.
Body conditioning classes will take place on Mondays at 9.15am and on Thursdays at 10.30am.
