A FACILITY which is “vital to the community of Taunton” has been opened.
Taunton Post Office moved 75 meters from its home in North Street to The County Stores where the doors were opened.
Taunton Deane MP Jeremy Browne cut the ribbon and said: “I welcomed the news that the post office was to move to modern premises.
“It is vital to the community of Taunton and I’m sure the improved office, and longer opening hours, will be warmly welcomed.
The office has been created at the back of the ground floor, which has undergone a £250,000 refurbishment.
County Stores director James Duder will now take on the role of subpostmaster and the facility will open from 8.30am to 5.30pm Mondays to Saturdays and 10am to 4pm on Sundays.
