MORE than £10,000 was stolen during a raid at a finance firm in Wellington.
Raiders targeted MJC Financial Planning on South Street and took cash, a safe, sovereign rings and an American 17th century coin.
Owner Mike Crew said: “This was a large safe so it is a sophisticated and professional job. Somebody had to know we had the safe, where it was and how to get it out the building.
“I'm a one-man band so this is a substantial amount to lose. It has practically wiped out all of my stock but we are open and still trading.”
Police have confirmed they are investigating a burglary and believe the break-in happened between 4.30pm on Friday and 9am on Saturday.
Officers have asked anybody who is offered gold rings or a safety deposit box to contact PC Michael Dunn at Wellington Police Station on 101.
Alternatively, anybody with information or who witnessed the incident should contact 101 or Crimestoppers.
