Taunton Bowling Club raises £660 for SURE
ALMOST £1,000 was donated last week to an appeal to equip the Beacon Centre cancer unit at Taunton’s Musgrove Park Hospital.
A total of £660 was presented to the County Gazette-backed Somerset Unit for Radiotherapy Equipment (SURE) charity by Taunton Bowling Club following various events and £7.30 in 5p pieces.
Other gifts included £55.05 in 5p coins from Blagdon Retirement Village; £4.32 from the collection pot at The Larder, Wellington; £104 from a collection by pupils at Thurlbear Primary School; and £144.98 from the Beacon Centre, which included £105 in 5ps.
The total raised was £996.45, bringing the total raised since the Gazette linked up with SURE to £397,532.39.
