THE owners of a 15th Century thatched country pub, which has been flooded for three weeks, will open its’ doors again next Tuesday (March 11).
Water submerged the ground floor of The Farmers Arms pub in Combe Florey, a family pub run by mother and daughter Maggie Riley and Patricia Vincent for 12 years.
Patricia said flooding has cost them around £30,000 in lost trade and repairs to replace the carpets, some furniture and re-paint the Grade II listed building.
She said: We have had de-humidifiers in and it’s been hard work and a stressful time.
“We had a power cut on Valentine’s Day night and we’ve had to rip out the carpets but we are just hoping to get the word out that we are back open now.”
The pub is in the Good Pub Guide 2014, the Good Beer Guide 2014 and the CAMRA Good Beer Guide 2014.
