NUFFIELD Health Taunton Hospital, at Staplegrove, is meeting all the essential quality and safety standards, according to a Care Quality Commission inspection.

Inspectors concluded that patients receive treatment and care from well-trained, polite and knowledgeable staff in clean, comfortable and safe surroundings.

Their report said that staff focus on patient comfort and great care is taken to respect people’s privacy and dignity.

Patients told the inspectors that they receive courteous and professional advice before, during and after treatments and that they were offered choices and given options at all stages of their care.

Hospital director Sasha Burns said: “I am extremely proud that the work done every day by the hospital staff has been found to be at or above the high standards expected by the CQC.

“I believe that much of this success is due to our matron, Joy Dyer, and her leadership of our clinical teams and the guidance provided by our Medical Advisory Committee chaired by consultant Dr David Beacock.”
