EXMOOR Search and Rescue had a boost to their funding from Western Power Distribution, which will help them purchase a new boat to add to their emergency fleet.
The group is comprised of volunteers who give up their time to help save the lives in the communities of Devon and Somerset.
Ray Stanway, water officer for the group said: “Volunteer groups like ours are increasingly supporting the main emergency services at times of major disasters, like the recent floods which has devastated parts of the UK.
“Fundraising is increasingly difficult so the £1,500 donated by WPD was a much needed boost.”
