A WOMAN who took a packet of scotch eggs from a supermarket in Minehead has apologised and paid up.

Police say the culprit picked up items from the Co-op store, ate the eggs and dumped the packet without paying on January 25.

Officers appealed for witnesses and a story at somersetcountygazette.co.uk became an internet sensation, attracting more than 20,000 views.

In February, officers confirmed they were no longer seeking information about the theft and this week said the matter had been dealt with by way of a ‘community resolution.’

A community resolution resolves a minor offence or anti-social behaviour incident through informal agreement between the parties involved, according to the Ministry of Justice.
