A FIRST birthday is always a special achievement, and it was time for a party at one family-run nursery in Creech St Michael.
Karebears Childcare in Ryesland Way invited mums, dads and little ones to join in a colourful celebration last week to mark a successful year at the centre.
Founder Karen Davey, a former child minder, said: “This year has gone so fast I can’t believe it.
“It feels an achievement because I always wanted to do this but never got the chance.
“I really enjoy getting up in the morning and going to work and actually seeing the little ones, some of whom I used to look after, grow up.”
Karen, who works with daughter-in-law Rhiannon Davey, daughter Carly Davey, and older sister Jackie Morgan, is looking forward to “more of the same” for 2014.
