Pensioner Marjorie Darbyshire, who lived on Dover Road for 20 years, said: “Nothing like this has ever happened before. It’s sad.
"We’ve never had forensics on the street before."
Lee Anderson said: “It’s scary. Nothing like this has happened around here before.”
Chad Martin, landlord of the nearby Waggon pub, said: “I saw lots of ambulances and police cars going past at tea-time on Tuesday.
“The police were there all night, but the lights weren’t on.
“Nobody seems to know the people who lived in the house. They hadn’t been there long and had done a council house exchange with the people who lived there before.”

AN INVESTIGATION has been launched by Avon and Somerset Police following the sudden death of a woman in the Priorswood area of Taunton yesterday evening.

“She was taken to hospital but did not survive and we’ve begun some enquiries to establish what happened. At this stage we are treating her death as unexplained.
“We’ve met with the woman’s family to tell them and they are currently being supported by a specially trained family liaison officer.”
