PUPILS AT Old Cleeve walked from Washford to St Andrew's Church in Old Cleeve last Friday (April 4) for a whole-school Easter service led by the Rev Kenneth Cross.

The service took on a colourful note as children displayed their work, which was related to the biblical events around Easter.

Parents and governors from the school also attended and joined in with hymns, prayers and chants.

The reception class produced a painting depicting the washing of Jesus' feet, year one told the story of the last supper, year three described the denial of Jesus and also produced some stained glass windows outlining the three denials.

Children from year four then took part in a procession around the church with a cross decorated with flowers.

They had produced poems about the crucifixion which has been nailed to the cross and these were pulled out and read out to the congregation.

The service was finished when children from year two put together their giant collaged jigsaw puzzle and told the story of the resurrection.
