SOMERSET Skills & Learning is celebrating winning the ‘Team Award for Care and Respect’ award at the Listening, Learning, Recognising Staff Awards Celebration Event.
Over 140 nominations were received with 13 overall winners including the Somerset-based local education and training provider.
The Learning 2 Work Team of SS&L was rewarded for how it “embodies care and respect in everything it does”.
Dawn North, team leader, said: “I’m very proud of my team. They all achieved this honour through the amazing high level of supportive, constructive and empathetic care they provide for all the young people on the programme.
“It’s not always the easiest of jobs, but I know they all believe it’s always worthwhile when the young people achieve something or change in a positive way.”
The team recruits and engages disaffected and isolated learners aged 16 to 18, often from deprived backgrounds with multiple issues, such as learning disabilities.
If you know someone who may be able to benefit from joining the Learning 2 Work programme, call SS&L on 01278-426828.
