FOOTBALL fans are being urged to dust down their old shirts to help disadvantaged children.

Project Fair Play is looking for disused tops to help youngsters in Brazil, where they will be worn while they host the World Cup this summer.

Some of the shirts will also be recycled for cash, raising funds for the Wheelchair Football Association in the UK.

Shirts can be taken to the Blackbrook Tavern, Ruishton, or the Cross Keys at Norton Fitzwarren.

Ruthie Benton, general manager of the Blackbrook Tavern, said: “The project is set to make this year’s World Cup even more special as we enjoy the on-pitch excitement knowing that we’re helping to make football a fantastic experience for youngsters here and in Brazil too.”
