Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward following a robbery in Exeter over the weekend.

Between 8am and 9am on Sunday 13th April an elderly lady had her handbag stolen as she walked along the footpath running between St Thomas Pleasure Ground and Buller Road, Exeter.

The woman, aged 86, suffered arm and shoulder injuries and was treated at the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital for her injuries. She was also left very shaken.

The suspect is described as a white man, 6ft tall, medium build wearing a black top and jeans. He is believed to have had his face covered.

The victim walks with a metal stick and was wearing a black coat and trousers and was wearing a beige peak cap. Her bag is described as a black small handbag with two straps. It contained a very small amount of cash and a bus pass.
