POLICE are investigating an alleged sexual assault in Wellington.
Officers have just released details of the incident, which happened between 2.45am and 3.30am on Friday, April 4 in the Hilly Head area of the town.
Police say a woman was walking on the pavement alongside the A38 when she was approached by a man who sexually assaulted her.
The incident was reported and an investigation has begun to identify the alleged attacker.
Officers say the victim described the man as being in his mid-20s or early-30s, around 5’11” tall with a medium/slim build and with a tanned complexion. He was wearing a black hooded top and black jeans.
Anyone who saw a man acting suspiciously in the area, or recognises the description of the man, should contact DC Frank Glover from Taunton CID on 101 and quote 33477/14.
