A MAN's body pulled from the River Tone yesterday (April 15) is that of missing 92-year-old William Evans, police have confirmed.
Officers say his family has been informed and the death is not being treated as suspicious.
As reported, rescuers pulled a body from the river by Firepool at around 5pm just hours after a missing persons appeal was issued.
A spokesman for Avon and Somerset Police said: "A file is being prepared for the coroner’s office.
"We would like to thank the public and the media for their help and support following our appeal to help find Mr Evans yesterday."
