A GRUELLING 9-mile challenge will put teamwork, agility and mental toughness to the test this May, while raising a stack of money for a good cause.

Tom Parker of Integrated Training is staging the mighty ‘Goppin’, a team fitness challenge, on Saturday May 24 at Wimbleball. He’s looking for 25 teams, two men and two women in each, to sign up and get stuck in.

Tom said: “I wanted to run a team event with a difference. The nine miles is split up into five workouts, with a half mile kayak dash to the finish.

“I’d love for us all to raise £5,000 for Macmillan Cancer Support, but that depends on teams signing up.”

Genevieve Drinkwater, Somerset fundraising manager for Macmillan Cancer Support, said: “Nearly one in two of us will be diagnosed with cancer. By 2030, the numbers will have doubled from 2 million to 4 million – about a 94% increase in a generation.

“We wouldn’t survive if we didn’t have people like Tom fundraising for the charity.”
