POLL cards are being issued to residents in West Somerset ready for the European Parliamentary Elections being held on May 22.

The cards will give details on polling stations and deadlines for applying postal and proxy votes.

People who already vote by post will receive a postal voter’s poll card which confirms that they are listed to vote by post and indicates when the postal vote will be sent out.

The deadline to register to vote is May 6 and the deadline to apply to vote by post is 5pm on May 7.

Residents wishing to vote by proxy must apply by 5pm on May 14.

The full list of parties and independent candidates set to stand for the election will be made public on April 22.

Anyone who does not receive a poll card by April 27 should contact Electoral Services on 01984-635288.
