HEALTH Minister Norman Lamb has praised the recently opened £34million Jubilee Building surgical development at Taunton’s Musgrove Park Hospital.

Mr Lamb and Taunton Deane MP Jeremy Browne toured the facility, which replaces some of the facilities in the outdated Old Building built in the Second World War.

Mr Lamb said: “I was hugely impressed by the fantastic new surgical building.

“The facilities for both patients and staff are excellent.

“It was great to come to Taunton and see what progress has been made in developing Musgrove.”

Mr Browne said: "Some of the buildings at Musgrove are still too old to be ideal but real progress has been made over recent years to modernise the facilities.

“The Beacon Centre is a wonderful new building which has saved most cancer patients from having to travel to Bristol for treatment.

“Now the new surgical building has opened and it is also very impressive.”
