SUPERMARKET chain Aldi opened its latest store on Exeter Road in Cullompton this week.

The new store, which has created 35 new jobs locally, alongside a range of community initiatives, opened its doors yesterday (Thursday) - and is currently holding an Easter colouring competition with local schools in the Cullompton area.

As part of its engagement with the local community, Aldi has agreed to support Cullompton Rangers AFC by sponsoring its annual six-a-side football tournament over July 19/20, featuring teams across all age groups from under 7s to under 18s.

Aldi is continuing its expansion across the South West, following successful store openings in Honiton and Liskeard last year.

The retailer will also be opening a new store in Plymouth later this year.

Due to Aldi's continued growth, the company is looking for additional staff for a variety of positions in stores across the region - more details on the roles can be found on Aldi's recruitment website at www.aldirecruitment.co.uk.

Aldi prides itself on British sourced products which can be found throughout the store, where shoppers can expect an extensive range of high quality, fresh food.

Aldi Store Manager, Jamie Short said: “My team and I are delighted to announce the opening of our Cullompton store and we're hoping to see a great turnout from the local community on opening day.”
