A TYRE fitter from Wellington has been picked to join a new training programme by Michelin.

Jake Brindley, 22, is just one of ten people chosen to go on the course designed to ensure that motorists get the best advice when buying tyres.

Last week, Jake, who works for Bridge Tyres and Wheels in Milverton Road, spent two days in specialist workshops at Michelin’s training centre in Stoke-on-Trent.

He said: “I’m really pleased to have been chosen for the Michelin Academy.

“Michelin is known to be the best, so if you’re going to do something you might as well do it properly.

“I think it will help me understand what goes into making a tyre and better explain to customers the different types available.”

I take it that the staff of the Gazette have never heard the phrase 'No news is good news' then. Or did the author of the article just fancy a new set of tyres, I wonder...

What the hell is this about?? He gets to advise customers on what tyres he can sell them? Would they be Michelin by any chance? Is this a paid story? Really, really odd.

Beats a comment about some 23-yr old "solicitor" or "accountant" passing a spelling test.

Whereas a journalist passing a spelling test would certainly be newsworthy lol
