PUPILS from St Peter’s School in Williton visited the Tesco Store in Minehead to take part in their Farm to Fork Trail to find out where their food comes from.

The trail helps children make informed healthy choices about what they eat, and all pupils and staff visited the store on Monday and Tuesday.

Key Stage One children took part in a fruit and vegetable hunt, tasting exotic fruits, different cheeses and identifying fresh fish on the fish counter.

They also had a tour of the warehouse, fridges and freezers, and were each given a goody bag.

Key Stage Two youngsters looked at where fruit and vegetables come from in more detail.

The visit is being followed up in school by a Change 4 Life Day next Thursday, May 8, when the school will be looking at healthy lunchboxes and snack swaps.

All classes will be cooking, taking part in a healthy lunchbox competition and visiting stalls to try something new.

Governors and parents will be taking part in the activities, too.
