CHILDREN at Minehead First School received a visit from the Hawk and Owl Trust last Wednesday.
Chris Sperring from the Trust brought along Bellatrix, the barn owl.
Their visit was part of the Somerset Community Barn Owl Project, run by Somerset Wildlife Trust.
Children learnt about the aims of the project, set up to increase the number of barn owls in Somerset.
As well as meeting Bellatrix, the children were also introduced to a live webcam inside a barn owl nest box to see how the birds and their newborn chicks behave in the wild.
