HUNDREDS of people across Taunton Deane and West Somerset are expected to vote in the European Parliament election today (Thursday, May 22).
Polling stations will be open across the district from 7am until 10pm, with eight parties fielding candidates in the race to fill six MEP vacancies.
The votes will be verified after the polls close, but counting will not take place until Sunday – at 7pm at the Blackbrook Pavilion, Taunton, for Taunton Deane ballot papers and from 7.30pm at Danesfield School, Williton.
Once counted, the results will be relayed to Poole Borough Council, the co-ordinating authority for the South-West, with the overall result for the region expected to be announced at midnight.
To discover the result, visit this website late on Sunday/early Monday.
