AN Easter raffle raised £1,149 for the Somerset Unit for Radiotherapy Equipment (SURE) appeal to equip the Beacon Centre cancer unit at Musgrove Park Hospital, Taunton.
The money from the event at the Barleymow Farm Shop and Restaurant, Chard, with other donations, raised £1,734.25 for the County Gazette-backed charity.
Other amounts received: £10 from June Norman in lieu of 50th birthday presents for Mandy Parsons, of Wellington; £2 in 5p coins from Pauline Harrison; £20 from Mrs E.A. Hunter in lieu of a birthday gift for her sister, Ruth Copleston, of Chester; £11.60 from the collection pot at Curves, Taunton; £250 raised by Phyl Jewell’s bingo session at Oake village hall; £176.40 from a collection at Asda, Bridgwater; £23 in 5ps from J. Biddiscombe and friends; and £92.25, including £90.55 in 5ps, from the Beacon Centre.
The total raised since SURE linked up with the Gazette now stands at £411,094.68.
