Motorcyclist dies in A38 accident at Thurloxton

POLICE have issued an appeal for witnesses to yesterday’s tragic accident.
A force spokesman said: “We are appealing for witnesses following a fatal road traffic collision in the Taunton area yesterday.
“A Ford transit was travelling along the A38 at Thurloxton shortly after 2pm towards Bridgwater from North Petherton.
“A motorcycle was travelling in the same direction and appeared to lose control and the rider was thrown from the bike.
“He was seriously injured and was pronounced dead at the scene shortly afterwards.
“We are keen to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time who may have witnessed the information and is able to help our investigation.”

SOMERSET County Council was already considering reducing the speed limit at Adsborough Hill from 60mph to 50mph following lobbying from numerous locals.
Council chairman Cllr David Fothergill said: "I'm really saddened to learn of this tragic accident.
"My thoughts are with the family and friends of the deceased."
PUB landlord James Lowe described the A38 through Thurloxton as "highly dangerous".
"The crash was further up by the fruit growers, but there's a huge amount of controversy over the road," said Mr Lowe, of The Maypole.
"The road is hugely dangerous and there are lots of accidents.
"We heard the ambulances yesterday, but it's something we've got used to it happens so often.
"We realised it was serious when we heard the helicopter."
POLICE have confirmed that a motorcyclist died in a road accident at Adsborough Hill, near Thurloxton, on the A38.
The road was closed for around five hours after the crash at about 2.15pm yesterday (Monday, May 26) while a police team carried out investigations.
Diversions were set up via the M5, while nearby lanes were congested.
