HOME owners and businesses continuing to recover from the devastating winter floods have been given a helping hand.
The Enterprise Holdings Foundation, the arm of the company that operates Enterprise Rent-A-Car, has donated £10,000 to the Somerset Community Foundation's flood relief fund.
The fund provides emergency grants to those whose homes were affected or had to evacuate their homes.
It also supports micro-businesses, charities and community organisations to ensure their survival and speedy recovery.
Luke LeSauteur, Enterprise's regional manager for the South-West said: “We have strong links with communities across the Westcountry and we are glad to help people and businesses get back on their feet.
“I would like to thank all our employees who worked tirelessly to support our customers in extremely difficult circumstances.”
Mary Hancock, deputy chief executive of Somerset Community Foundation, said: “Only now that the flood waters have started to receded can people start to get a sense the damage to their property and plan for the clean-up operation ahead.
“This donation will help us rebuild flood-affected homes and strengthen communities.”
