A TAUNTON college student will have a hair-raising experience when she embarks on her charity fundraiser for children.

Phoebe Tootill will cut a large amount of her hair and donate it to the Little Princess Trust – a children’s charity who make real hair wigs for children suffering with hair loss.

The 17-year-old, who currently studies at Richard Huish College, is due to have her fundraising haircut on Wednesday June 4 and is urging people to donate to her sponsor page.

Phoebe said: “I have a lot of hair and I thought it would be a good way to raise money by cutting it off. I did a lot of research and found out about Little Princess Trust, so I felt they were best suited to raise money for.

“I’m not cutting all of it off; they take about 10 inches of hair to make the wigs. I’ve raised £80 so far, I haven’t really set a target but I’d like to raise £100. My friends don’t want me to cut it and everyone at college seems to be fond of my hair.”
