FORMER BBC newsreader and TV personality Angela Rippon is to be the patron of a scheme linking schools, care homes, businesses and services to create more inclusive communities and reduce the fear and stigma of dementia.
Taunton-based Reminiscence Learning’s Archie Project, which increases inter-generational dementia awareness, topped the regional initiative category of the Alzheimer's Society's Dementia Friendly Awards.
As well as Ms Rippon agreeing to support the initiative, Richard McCourt, of Dick and Dom fame, who is an ambassador for the Alzheimer’s Society, met members of the project at the awards in Westminster.
