TAUNTON MP Jeremy Browne visited staff at the town’s British Heart Foundation shop to learn more about their Fight for Every Heartbeat campaign, which is aiming to secure more donations, and more fundraisers and volunteers.
Mr Browne said: “Charity shops are raising huge amounts of money for deserving causes. The British Heart Foundation is paying for research, new equipment for patients and nursing staff to care for people who have suffered a heart attack.
“People who support the British Heart Foundation shop with their donations and custom are helping to raise funds which are making a positive difference to the lives of thousands of people.
"It is also impressive how many people volunteer for charities in Taunton Deane. In addition to their professional staff, the British Heart Foundation shop in Taunton has a remarkable 45 volunteers."
Mr Browne also helped by packing bags and chatting to customers during his visit to the shop in North Street.
