A POET who is attempting to walk 1,000 miles barefoot to help raise money for charity made a whistle-stop visit Minehead Middle School.
Philip Wells, ‘the fire poet’, called into the school to recite some poetry and tell the pupils about what he is doing.
The money Phil raises on his ‘Barefoot Billion’ challenge will be used to benefit children who are suffering from at least one form of severe deprivation through charities – The Consortium for Street Children, Born Free’s Global Friends and Ocean Stars Trust.
Philip’s gruelling walk is taking him from St Ives to Anglesey.
A school spokesaman said: “We were delighted to welcome the ‘Fire Poet’ to our school. He recited some of his well-known rap poetry to the children.”
