MINEHEAD residents are being warned of phishing calls from someone claiming to be from Minehead Town Council.
Several people in the town have been contacting and the council wants people to be aware that the calls are not from them.
The callers claim that the town council owes the person money and try and get personal data.
If you receive a call similar to this, you should contact Police Action Fraud by calling 0300-123-2040, who will then report details to the National Fraud Intelligence Bureau.
Minehead Town Council has already reported a number of incidents to Action Fraud.
By reporting the crime, it enables the National Intelligence Bureau to collate information and collect data about the fraudulent calls.
