TRANSPORT Secretary Patrick McLoughlin has visited Taunton Station today (Thursday, June 12) to view the site of a proposed £4,6million development.

He heard of proposals to switch the main entrance to the Firepool side, with passenger facilities, a multi-storey car park, a public transport interchange and commercial, residential and retail premises.

Leafy boulevards would lead passengers via a Riviera-style riverside to the town centre, passing through Firepool.

Did he make any comment about the grid lock around the area? Safe to say he was probably whisked in and out by train.
