FIRE teams assisted in a daring water rescue in Okehampton in the early hours of this morning (June 15).
The Fire Service received a request from the ambulance team to help rescue someone from the river near West Street at 3.21am.
Two fire crews from Okehampton and the specialist rescue team from Camels Head in Plymouth were sent to the incident.
A Fire Service spokesman said: "On arrival, crews found two people in around 2ft of water.
"One woman had sustained injuries and crews in dry suits used a spinal board and a 105 ladder to rescue her. One man was assisted from the water by crews also.
"The woman was conveyed to hospital by ambulance crews."
