ENGLAND may have been dumped out of the World Cup, but that has not stopped most punters placing their hopes in Roy’s boys.
Around 84% of all bets on the match in England have been for a Three Lions victory, making them more popular to win this one than they have been in the previous two matches.
Punters in Devon however, are more pessimistic (or realistic) that the final game of a torrid World Cup campaign will result in victory with just 75% of all bets in Exeter and 80% in Plymouth for an England victory.
“England have gone out after two passable performances and with this being a dead rubber, English fans in Swindon have all but given up hope,” said William Hill spokesman Joe Crilly.
