A PROJECT to revamp the village play area has been given a boost.
Waste and recycling firm Viridor has offered Milverton Parish Council a grant of £29,000 towards the refurbishment of equipment at the Recreation Ground.
Clerk Gwilym Wren said: “This, together with S106 monies and other funds, means there is a real prospect that the project can proceed.”
Mr Wren said the council hoped Taunton Deane Council would be able to support the plans but said parish council vice-chairman Jenny Hoyle was told no budget existed for this.
Mr Wren, who said he would approach the portfolio holder, added: “Councillors have thanked Mrs Hoyle for her hard work on bringing the project so far.
“The council will continue to press for the funds to bring the project to fruition.”
