CUSTOMERS will be able to buy their car tax at the post office when it is upgraded at the end of July.
The outlet is one of 6,000 nationwide being converted into a ‘main style branch’, with longer opening hours and services available seven days a week.
The outlet will close for refurbishment at 5.30pm on Tuesday, July 15 and re-open on Wednesday, July 30 – during the closure customers can use the nearest post offices at Norton Fitzwarren or Priorswood, in Taunton..
Post Office area manager Adrian Skinner said the new facility would off offer all existing products and services plus car tax from three serving positions.
In addition, customers will be able to access selected post office services over the retail counter during shop opening hours.
The post office counters will be open from 9am to 5.30pm Monday to Saturday, while services will be available in the shop section from 7am to 8pm Monday to Saturday and from 8am to 8pm on Sundays.
