A FIELD of remembrance will be laid out in Wellington this month to mark the 100th anniversary since the start of the First World War.
Remembrance crosses will be placed at Wellington Baptist Church by Mayor Dave Mitton and councillors on Sunday, July 27 at 12noon.
The centenary event has been organised by the Wellington branch of the Royal British Legion and, in the week leading up to the service, other crosses will be laid in memory of every person from the town who lost their life during the Great War.
If you'd like to help at the service, call branch chairman Ray Filler on 01823-660084
