ORGANISERS of the Manor Care Home in Bishops Hull's 6th annual Classic Car Show and Family Fun Day hailed it a “huge success”.

Crowds were treated to a hog roast as well as a bar, sweet stalls, glorious homemade food, face painting and craft stalls.

Live acts on the day included the Denny Blackmore Jazz Combinations, magician Paul Lewis and a chance to boogie at the inflatable dome disco.

Disaster struck in the morning when the classic cars struggled to drive onto the beautifully tended lawns due to the heavy rain but, as in previous years, the clouds dispersed and the sun shone down to help make the cars more accessible and the event more enjoyable.

The show was opened by Apple FM and attended by Taunton Deane MP Jeremy Browne, his wife Rachel and daughter Molly.

Jayne Mannion, head of therapeutic services, said: "The day was a huge success and it was heart warming to see so many of our residents enjoy an afternoon of fun with their relatives and friends.”
