TAUNTON Deane MP Jeremy Browne has dipped into his pocket to support a £700,000 scheme to enhance the Friends Meeting House, in Bath Place, Taunton.
After 'buying a brick' for £10, Mr Browne said: “It is an ideal way for the public to contribute to the restoration and enhancement of this important Taunton building.
“The Friends Meeting House does need significant new investment. The plans for the building are very exciting but the total cost of around £700,000 will require a significant amount of fundraising.
“The Friends Meeting House is used by many local organisations. I hope the fundraising is a success and the Quakers can achieve their ambition of starting with the building enhancement next year."
