MINEHEAD has a new-look Cancer Research shop – and its bosses are urging you to offer your support to the charity.

The revamped store, on the Parade was re-opened by Minehead Hospital matron Norma Coombs and volunteer Yvonne Kelvey, who is currently receiving cancer treatment.

Changes have been made to create an “improved shopping experience” for customers and a new layout allows space for more stock.

Leaflets about cancer awareness are also pinned to new community boards inside the shop, giving visitors easy access to information on the signs and symptoms of the disease.

Store manager Anne Sully said: “We are thrilled to unveil our beautiful new-look shop and welcome customers old and new.

“The team is delighted with the changes that are being made and we hope the people of Minehead will continue to support the shop as they have done so fantastically in the past.

“We are committed to raising even more funds to help beat cancer sooner.”

Anne also issued an appeal for clothes, CDs, homeware and books to replace stock.

She added: “Cancer Research UK receives no Government funding for our life-saving research and so we are forever grateful to all the wonderful people who support us by shopping with us, making a donation or generously offering their time as volunteers.”
