CHILDREN off to middle school in September had fun and adventure with a special orienteering event at Dunster Castle.
Leisure trust 1610 organised the event with the Exmoor Federation, which includes six first schools in West Somerset.
Year four children from the schools were invited to take part in the event to meet new classmates and help ease their transition to middle school.
Organiser Suzanne Richards, from West Somerset Sports & Leisure Centre in Minehead, said: “1610 has been working on a great range of activities throughout the year with a number of first schools in the area which included activities such as street dance and gymnastics.
"We wanted to give staff and pupils a treat to say thank you for such a successful year.
Orienteering helps children to bond together in teams, enjoy the great outdoors and inspire their imaginations by exploring a wonderful historic site such as Dunster Castle.”
