FIVE daring fundraisers, four of whom suffer from multiple sclerosis, are taking on a tandem skydive for the MS Society’s Taunton branch.

The Taunton, Bridgwater, and Ilminster residents – Anna Brockington, 44, Lindsey Hedges, 39, Carol Searle, 46, Stacey White, 28, and Andy Hopper, 53 – will make the jump at Dunkeswell Aerodrome from 15,000ft on the August 10, with hopes of raising £5,000 for the society.

Anna and the group all have their own reasons for taking on the brave challenge.

She said: "I am jumping with three local ladies who also have MS, which I think is amazing in itself.

"We’re all passionate about raising money for the MS Society and our local Taunton branch, so that we can help fund research into treatments and a cure for MS and pay for local services and support.

"I was diagnosed in 1991 at the age of 21 while studying in my final degree year in Manchester.

"I’m very relieved to see MS treatments improve so much over the past 20 years. Life’s hard, but I’m still working part-time, and firmly believe in fighting for the drugs and treatments which are going to help.

"We’d like to thank everyone who has sponsored us and the residents of Ivy House, Wellington, Huntstile Organic Farm, North Petherton, Vape-IT UK, Taunton and PMBL Ltd, Chard.”
