VANDALS damaged a tractor and window at Wellington Rugby and Football Club on Wednesday night (July 23), say Wellington Police.

Now they're calling for witnesses to come forward with any information about the incident which saw the club's lounge bar window smashed.

An Avon & Somerset Police spokesman said: "Damage was done to a tractor that was parked at the club, and items including tools were stolen from inside the tractor.

"Rubbish bins were emptied, and a large window in the club building was smashed.

"It is thought it happened some time over night between 11pm on Wednesday and 8am on Thursday."

Ashley Colman, chairman of Wellington RFC, expressed his disappointment at what had happened.

"It's about £300-£400-worth of damage. It's really disappointing, we've not had anything like this for a long time.

"There's nothing in the club anyone could steal, we never keep any money or anything."

Anyone with any information should call the police on 101 and quote crime reference number 75420/14.
