ENTRIES are up in this year’s Devon Tourism Awards and look set to grow further as organisers announced an extended deadline to August 29 in the Outstanding Customer Service and Tourism Event categories.
Awards organiser Robin Barker of Services for Tourism said: “The Awards have really taken off this year, hitting record numbers following the region’s success in last year’s national awards, when we were England’s top region.
"What is great to see is the number of first-time entrants alongside many ‘regulars’ – plus the success of the new ‘Dog-Friendly’ category.
The awards celebrate excellence in tourism across the South West and aim to promote and reward leading businesses and individuals in the tourism industry, whatever their sector and size.
They are free to enter and all entrants receive feedback.
