THE last, long-awaited dragon has joined the trail this week, enabling hunters to complete their collection.

Defendamus, designed by Stephen Hartnell and stunningly painted by grafitti artist Sam Gaden, has now taken its place in County Walk, a post previously occupied by roving emergency dragon Accident Pronus.

The Taunton Deane Dragon Trail has seen 31 dragons scattered around Taunton, Wellington, Wiveliscombe and villages to promote some family fun this summer.

The trail, led by Taunton Deane Mayor Dave Durdan, also aims to attract tourists to boost local businesses and raise money for good causes in the area.

Accident Pronus has now gone to take the place of dragon 26, Shifter, in Wiveliscombe, who needs some repairs and will be back out as soon as possible.

The other roving dragon, Proud Heritage, will be at Taunton Flower Show tomorrow (Friday) and Saturday.

The trail app should also be available from AppStore and Google Play in the next few days. It’s free, but please remember to make a donation to the trail at places selling the trail guide.
