A WOMAN from Taunton turned 100 years old earlier this month with her family and friends at Lavender Court care home in Taunton.
Muriel Sherman celebrated her milestone birthday on Saturday, August 9.
As well as receiving her birthday card from Her Majesty the Queen, the Mayor of Taunton Councillor Dave Durdan paid a visit to give Muriel a cake and a bouquet of flowers to mark the special occasion.
Speaking on the achievement of turning 100, Muriel said “I just take one day at a time and I’ve had a very enjoyable day today.”
