THE Military Wives’ Choir drawn from the families of 40 Commando based at Norton Manor Camp and RMB Chivenor will be headlining a concert in Williton next month.

The concert on September 20, is part of a Commemoration Service organised by Williton Remembers WW1.

Bert Pearson, chairman of Williton Branch of the Royal British Legion expressed his delight.

He said:“It’s particularly appropriate that we should welcome the ladies of 40 Commando and RMB Chivenor as part of our Commemoration of the start of World War One, as they and their men folk serve to remind us that the tradition of service and sacrifice so evident in 1914 is still part of military life a hundred years later in 2014.”

Guy Morgan from Williton Remembers World War One added: “There will be plenty of time and space for visitors to bring picnics and there will also be tea, coffee and snacks available for purchase on the field so we encourage everyone to bring along rugs and chairs.”
